TOGOLESE VOTERS' DEMANDS

Togolese voters censured Government in place, at Lome, by their refusal with 90% of October 27th, 2002 elections. Thus sovereign People reiterates his adhesion with the concept of change carried by the Coalition of Democratic Forces (CFD). By this duty, people of Togo appears to be a collective subject. People of Togo requires CFD the appointment of the head of the opposition, who will be carried to power in 2003. The end November 2002 would be a reasonable limiting date to nominating the appointed leader. Political activity is a noble and lucid enterprise, precisely insofar as one carries to power a person who agrees to respect State laws and to represent hopes of freedom and common good. No politic is possible as long as the choice of the holder of power is not clearly expressed. This choice of leader is eminent political attitude when it assumes the will of sovereign people. In Real Politik one attributes leadership to politician who is at the head after last consultations in which took part the majority of parties. In regard to Togolese opposition, it is the party of CAR of Mr. Yawo AGBOYIBO which had the superiority, from 1994 till 1998. Since presidential elections of 1998, the head of row of opposition parties returns to Mr. Gilchrist OLYMPIO's UFC party.

Making politic means to be determinated to take in hand the rudder of the City. However, the rotation of Praesidium of the CFD, decided on October 31th, is a purely administrative step, which is not yet a political attitude. It doesn't satisfy fundamental request and expectations of people, who need to know about future President. Moreover, this revolving structure is a twisted inspiration of the helvetic political system which it seems to take as a reference. In Switzerland, City-Republics, State-cantons and Principalities are at the same time autonomous entities as well as confederated ones, and the will of citizens is basic in any public enterprise.

Contemporary African history is marked by "consociations/ or consociationnalisms" that seemed to be failure adventures, in Congo (ex-Zaire), Benign (ex-Dahomey) or Chad. As long as circumstance unified factions regard power as a free access resource, they do not enter in politic and cannot overcome problems of leadership. Fortune unions and coalitions then become feasts of the predatory ones and dictatorships.

New CFD delays alternative, as long as members do not appoint their leader. Thus when time will come for votations, the whole society will be confused with a multitude of présidentiables. It is adventurous, unthinkable and politiclessness to draw country's destiny from fate of the ballot boxes: calculations never solve problems men do not dare to deal with! To some extent, political power is always Messianic, since it is an Elected person one confirms as head of State. The vexations of togolese opposition, which control power, only three months, over ten years of Fourth Republic in Togo, warn CFD against the lapse of memory of politic. Lacking to indicating one leader will renew conditions for another political auto goal of opposition parties in 2003,
