Internet Society International Opens Branch in Togo

Internet Society International (ISOC-International), an American association whose objective is to develop the Internet through wider access, on Saturday opened its branch in Lome, the Togolese capital.

The objectives of ISOC-Togo include the reinforcement of Togolese presence on the Internet, promoting local initiatives and democratising access to the Internet.

A nine-member board of directors headed by the Press Attache at the US embassy, Victor Toulassi, would co-ordinate the association's activities.
