France on Thursday gave a grant of one billion F CFA to support Togo's health sector. (1 USD = 700 F CFA).

The funds would be used to finance the initial and continuous training of health personnel, decentralisation of health services by creating health districts, the pharmaceutical sector, blood transfusion and medical analysis laboratories.

French ambassador in Lome, Jean-Philippe Valette and the Togolese public health minister, Pr Kondi Charles Agba, signed the grant agreement.
