The National Water Company of Togo
(RNET), has raised water tariff in the country by 20
percent with effect from this month.
The State-owned Company said in a statement Wednesday in
Lome, the increase followed "financial imbalance" caused
by treasury problems.
The new rates are as follows:
- Low cost: 0 to 10 cubic meters /month: 90 CFA francs /m3
- Category 2: 11 to 30 m3 /month: 380 FCFA /m3
- Category 3: 31 to 50 m3 /month: 400 FCFA /m3
- Category 4: 51 to 100 m3 /month: 425 FCFA /m3
- Over 100 m3 per month: 500 FCFA /m3.
The old prices were 165 FCFA, 310 FCFA, 335 FCFA and
335 FCFA, respectively. (700 CFA francs=1USD).
