A group of Togolese NGOs Monday
in Lome, launched a two-week campaign against sexual
harassment of women in schools in the country.
The NGOs, members of WILDAF or Women in Law and
Development in Africa, Togo chapter, say the campaign
is part of efforts to counter violence against women.
The organisers said the event would raise awareness at
the university and other educational institutions about
the dangers of sexual harassment.
WILDAF-Togo chairperson, Kafui Kuwonu, said the campaign
would raise public consciousness and boost the fight
against the disturbing phenomenon.
