Three armed robbers were burned alive by
residents of the Adakpame suburb east of Lome last Tuesday.
The three were members of a gang that broke into a bar tender's
house early Tuesday morning, shooting him in the leg.
Unfortunately for the gangsters, one of the bar tender's sons
managed to get out of the house and alert neighbours and the
nearest gendarmerie brigade.
According to witnesses, shots were fired before residents managed
to overpower the three gangsters, whom they burned alive.
Gendarmes have since arrested some members of the gang, while
others were on the run.
